The head District Attorney of Pontevedra, César del Pozo, will wait until there is a “clear and concise” denunciation to interven in the polemic casued after finding out that several neighbors of the Arousa region were included in the lists of the Popular Party of the Basque Country without their consent. The Galician socialists and the BNG believe, in contrast, that the Public Department should act as officer.
At least three neighbors of O Grove have claimed during this week that their names were included in the electoral ballots of the PP on this last May 27th without their consent. During the last electoral campaign, the PP had to appeal militants of other communities to complete its lists in the Basque region. In this case, they formed part of the candidacies presented in Orozko, Muskiz y Erandio. According to this newspaper, all gained knowledge of the situation through receiving a letter of thanks from María San Gil. The address of the popular Basques had been linked to in that moment to supposed fraude. Nevertheless, the polemic does not stop believing in Galicia.
«The most serious»
The head District Attorney of Ponevedra has left it clear that this must be a case “sufficiently serious as so that there are clear and concise denunciations.” According to “The Voice of Galicia,” Del Pozo shows reticient to act of office. “It seems that the most serious is a denunciation over its acts. The actions of the office requiere that there is an absolute security,” notes the representative of the Public Department.
An opinion very different to that which defend the socialists and the Galician nationalists. The provincial secretary of the PSOE, Modesto Pose, considers that there exist sufficient data for Del Pozo to act in office and recriminate the attitude adopted by the Popular Party of Galicia. At his justice, so much Alberto Núñez Feijoo as Rafael Louzán, presidents of the Galician PP and another entity, “have to face up to it” because it’s not “sufficient to say one is sorry.”
The socialist director also has criticized the part of the Agency of Data Protection and notes that the PP deserves “all of the respect and admiration when it’s dealing with a gesture of solidarity,” but “here up to three crimes were produced.”
A very similar position is maintained from the BNG. The autonomous deputy Bieito Lobeira also believes that the District Attorney should investigate this supposed fraude without waiting for a denunciation to be produced.
“What is not right is that people become involved, without having nothing to do with and no knowledge of it, in a candidacy that they do not know,” notes the representative of the Galician nationalists.
